Joseph Francis Strong, Jr.

Age 89, of West Milton,  passed away, Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at Miami Valley Hospital. He was born September 16, 1934, in Somerville, New Jersey, to his parents Joseph & Anna (Kahlsdorf) Strong. He graduated from Somerville High School and retired in 1993 from General Motors as a Millwright. On September 24, 1955, he married Elizabeth Irene Grick in East Millstone, New Jersey. Joe served in the US Army from 1957-1959. He was a member of the United State Air Force Museum and was an avid Ohio State football fan. He enjoyed building models, was a train enthusiast and loved to travel. He will be missed and remembered by his loving wife of 68 years Elizabeth I. Strong; daughter and son-in-law Mary & Rusty Miller of West Milton.  

Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, January 27, at Jackson-Sarver Funeral Home, 1 S. Main Street, Pleasant Hill,  with interment following Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:30-10:30 AM Saturday at the funeral home. If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
